Katy Perry will release a new album, 143, on September 20 via Capitol. It will mark the pop artistâs first studio album since August 2020âs Smile. In a press statement about her new album, Perry said, âI set out to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message.â
Perry co-wrote the lead single from 143, âWomanâs World,â with songwriter Chloe Angelides and producers Lukasz âDr. Lukeâ Gottwald, Vaughn Oliver, Rocco Did It Again!, and Aaron Joseph. It arrives with a music video directed by Charlotte Rutherford. Thatâs it below.
Perry made some of her biggest songsâsuch as âI Kissed a Girl,â âHot n Cold,â âTeenage Dream,â âLast Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),â âCalifornia Gurls,â and âRoarââwith Dr. Luke, but did not work with him on Smile or 2017âs Witness, following allegations that he sexually assaulted Kesha. The producer denied Keshaâs allegations, and he and the singer settled their long-running legal battle last year.
